Andrew Mason - Biography

 

Andrew Mason is a professional nature photographer who lives in rural Staffordshire, in the heart of the English countryside.

 

A former lawyer, Andrew read law at University. He then worked as a corporate and commercial lawyer, including spending time at the London office of one of the largest global commercial law firms and then at a multinational manufacturing company. During this time, Andrew worked in Europe and North America.

 

Andrew's passion for the natural world started as a young boy whilst exploring the countryside around his home. This soon lead to walking and climbing trips to the Peak District, the Alps and the Himalayas. These trips were recorded with a Nikon FM2 camera and manual Nikkor 35-105mm lens. 

 

After 14 years of working as a lawyer, Andrew decided to pursue his passions for the natural world and photography full time. Andrew now works on making images of the natural world, our place in it and writing stories about them.

 

Andrew's work is represented by RSPB images, FLPA Images and Minden Pictures. Andrew's images are widely published and have been used by Nikon, Carl Zeiss, the RSPB, the Wildlife Trusts and the BBC Wildlife Magazine, amongst others.
